Part-time Artist/Designer/Photographer in Residence – Autumn Term 2017

St Aloysius’ College Art Department is setting up a project with Glasgow School of Art to offer a current or recently graduated artist, designer or photographer the opportunity to work within the school to showcase good practice in an area of the arts.

The successful candidate will work within the Art Department where they will have the opportunity to work on a collaborative project with staff and either 1st or 3rd year pupils. There would be opportunities to demonstrate techniques and give talks to groups of pupils, as well as leading a project with pupils. A work space will be made available within the department and there will be a small allowance for materials.

To conclude the residency, the work created by both the successful candidate and St Aloysius’ College pupils will be displayed at the annual Art Exhibition and Fashion Show.

The residency will be from September until November 2017.  The successful candidate is likely to spend one day per week or two half days, to be agreed. The total fee for the residency would be £1200 plus up to £400 for materials.
