Graduate internship: Marketing/Social Media Officer
Full time 35hrs pw. – 6 months £8.90 per hour.
Office based in Paisley
“The graduate will work on Outspoken Arts Scotland’s new programme of cultural engagement and events to be delivered in 2018/19. The main duties will be as a social media marketeer taking responsibility for all our public facing marketing channels, developing content with artists, cultural organisations and communities of interest.
The role will involve working closely with the Creative Director, an Engagement Manager and a Public Relations Manager. Some of the work will take place mainly in our offices but also out and about meeting clients, communities and visiting venues and places of creative activity.
The graduate should have some awareness of the visual and performing arts and take a keen interest in photography, film-making, creative writing, social media and developing audiences.
The role will involve close monitoring of social media traffic and regular reporting of same.
The marketing channels that will be developed will be via Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Instagram, WordPress website, Hootsuite, Google Analytics and the like. The role will involve writing posts, uploading photographs, promoting events, building followers, monitoring and measuring likes, hits, views and sharing activity. The role will also involve working with community participants to build ideas through engagement capturing stories and creative projects as they emerge. This may involve research, reading and developing an appreciation of arts, literature, local history and heritage as well communities and in particular focusing on equalities matters for those people with protected characteristics.
Essential & Desired skills
- An arts degree covering one or more of the following disciplines: theatre, performing and/or visual arts, photography, film, music, media and mass communication, literature and languages, history, humanities and the like.
- Essential skills are creative writing, photography, film-making, knowledge of multiple social media channels. also proficiency in Microsoft Office, word, excel, powerpoint, Adobe products such as Photoshop, Acrobat.
- Desirable skills/knowledge: Final Cut Pro or other similar film editing software; social media monitoring tools
