The Faculty of Media and Communication at Bournemouth University is one of the largest of its kind in the world and has a global reputation for combining research and teaching practice.

The VFX Hub based within the Faculty of Media and Communication is working with the Metropolitan Police to create a real-time, human avatar. The avatar will be built using Maya and Z Brush and will be animated using motion capture techniques and rendered in real-time with Unreal Engine 4. The project will last 32-weeks and will involve in-depth collaboration with members of the NCCA Research Group, who are experts in this field. The first stage of production will involve creating the basic model, building a folder of blend shapes and rigging the avatar. Applicants will need to be agile, talented, with great technical and creative skills able to take direction and also to work on their own.

This post is available on a fixed-term basis until 20 December 2019. Deadline: 22/5/19
